Unearth a Story at the Library during the 2026 Summer Reading Challenge!

     

WHAT’S HAPPENING IN 2026?

Are you up for getting creative this summer? We’ve got you covered! Participants in Color Our World Summer Reading program will have a chance to explore their creative side during our summer program!

You can register and log your books online on Beanstack or download the Beanstack tracker app and log books on your phone. You can register if you are an iPhone or Android user. Just search for "Beanstack Tracker" in the Google Play or App store. If you signed up last year your Beanstack information is still there! Just login and register.

Once you have enrolled, start reading to earn points! Log your minutes read on Beanstack to earn virtual badges and chances to win prizes all summer long.

READ, LOG, AND WIN PRIZES!

Prizes for every age category are tied to earned badges. All participants will earn a FREE book of their choice when they reach halfway through the program and again when they compete the challenge. Everyone will earn e-tickets to deposit in a prize ballot box for every badge completed. The grand finale prize drawings for each age group will be held at the end of the program and winners will be notified by email.

Complete the program and don't forget to put your raffle tickets into your wanted final grand prize.

PRIZES WILL BE AVAILABLE TO CLAIM BEGINNING ON MONDAY, JULY 6TH.

ENJOY SPECIAL PROGRAMS

During the months of June, July and August, special programs will be held to complement the Unearth a Story theme. Look for our annual Summer Reading Kick-Off Party on Tuesday, June 16th. There's going to be a lot of outdoor fun with the Oakland County Parks, Mystical Rainbow Creations Face Painting, and our local Kona Ice Truck!

Miss Taylor will bring back Afertnoon Storytime on June 18th; get diggin with Fossil Club on June 10th, and bring back Water Days on June 22nd!

Teens and Adults can learn about the history of Walled Lake on June 17th, discover Detroit's Pewabic Pottery on June 24th,  and Taste American History on June 27th.
